ENGLISH 11 - 3
FINAL EXAM WEDNESDAY JUNE 14TH AM
Wednesday June 7th
Students presented the Lady Macbeth trial. We have a closing statement on Friday and then the review will begin.
Verdicts for previous trials:
Witches - not guilt on the count of fraudulently being a witch
Guilty on the charge of conspiracy to commit murder - rationale is that Macbeth testified that he did not consider killing Duncan until he received his predictions and if the witches truly had powers to see the future they would know what he would do with their predictions.
Macbeth - Guilty on all counts.

We then reviews the short fiction terms from the Unit One handout and learned about irony. The remainder of the class was spent in doing notes on our poetry assignments.

Yesterday we put all of our answers for "Dandelions" together on the board. We then broke into groups and chose a poem from the choices Mrs. Mahoney gave us and made notes on ALL of Stage 2 from the Poem Autopsy.
Today we finished these and handed them in. When students finished, they went to the library to find their own poems to do an autopsy individually. On Tuesday (NOTE CHANGE IN DATE) we will be putting these together, so it's essential you have a poem chosen and have begun to make notes.
Monday is the figurative devices quiz. Be ready.

Students presented the case for Stanley Murdoch and then students did a self and peer evaluation. We had a discussion about the upcoming changes in English curriculum as far as I know it and how next year might be different. To finish off, students took the poem "For the Death of 100 Whales" and were to find as many figurative devices as they can and label them. You need this for an activity tomorrow.
